4 One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
The only thing I want to do God is dwell within your house... Take each step within your presence. To gaze upon your beauty. Always remind me of this. Amen.
29 “God does all these things to a person—
twice, even three times—
30 to turn them back from the pit,
that the light of life may shine on them.
As you can see, I haven't posted anything in just about a whole month. (Definitely not proud of that at all)... But what I can say is, in this whole month, I have learned a lot. I have tasted a bit of discouragement with a side of being stubborn... In post 4, you can see all about how discouragement can be a crippling thing. A lot of you ladies may have experienced this; what being small feels like. But sometimes God has to make you feel small just to remind you how big He is.
6-8 Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t, and doesn’t, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.
Even when we were nothing, God still chose us. Even when you were nothing, God still thought of you.
18 When I said, “My foot is slipping,”
your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.
19 When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought me joy.
God your unfailing love prevails. No matter what situation I am facing, you are never surprised. Instead your grace, love, and mercy come to my rescue always. You make all things work together for those who love you. You use the pieces of my life to give you glory. I will not fear but trust in your unfailing love. Amen.
24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
Not even death can hold Jesus down... And since He can overcome the grave, what more can Jesus do in your life? Nothing is impossible.
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Something that is so intriguing about this scripture that we often don't think about is how Jesus is choosing us to be His witnesses after we have received the Holy Spirit. Recently, I have been apart of a ministry school and one thing I learned was the difference between evangelizing and witnessing. Evangelizing is when we purposely go out and share the good news about Jesus. Witnessing becomes an involuntary action when we have received the Holy Spirit. We are constantly witnessing whether we want to or not.
39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This is a promise to you!
12-14 So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.
What I love about this is the beauty in this scripture. Your new garment... This means your old garment of ugly things is gone; gossip, jealousy, anger, depression, etc, is gone. Always wear your new garment.
43 1-4 But now, God’s Message,
the God who made you in the first place, Jacob,
the One who got you started, Israel:
“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you.
I’ve called your name. You’re mine.
When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.
When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down.
When you’re between a rock and a hard place,
it won’t be a dead end—
Because I am God, your personal God,
The Holy of Israel, your Savior.
I paid a huge price for you:
all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in!
That’s how much you mean to me!
That’s how much I love you!
I’d sell off the whole world to get you back,
trade the creation just for you.
Wow... The reason I picked this translation is because it clearly says that God would trade creation itself, just for you; just for me. He would sell off the whole world to get you back. Where ever you are today in your walk, Jesus wants to get you back to the center of it all. Getting back to the center means living under submission of Jesus who is grace, peace, love, and forgiveness. There is nothing that you could do that could ever keep God from loving you so much that He would trade creation for you. That is truly amazing.
